First of all, lets discuss how stress, dandruff and other reason causes hair loss during teenage. It’s not always necessary that adult experience the hair loss, a poor diet, medical illness, stress, and hormonal imbalance also affects the teenage leads to hair loss. Hair follicle has its own cycle of hair growth:

ü growth phase (“anagen”) that stays two to six years

ü transition phase (“catagen”)

ü resting phase (“telogen”), last for three months before the growth phase starts above

Any kind of stress leads to hair at rest causes hair to stop growing and makes them falls out. This situation is named as “telogen effluvium”, which usually recovers once the patient overcomes the stress. The stress causes the production of adrenaline, which gets converted into cholesterol and causes the raised level of testosterone in the body. Testosterone is a male hormone in body, excess of which causes the hair loss. To overcome stress you can perform some mind relaxing exercise, meditation and yoga and by adopting some better lifestyle. Once you get control over your stress, hair fall stops on own and hair starts growing again.

Another common cause behind hair loss in a teenager is a fungal infection. This can be visible as of dandruff on the scalp. Usually, the fungal infection gets treated with medication and by the use of specific shampoos and results out in stop hair fall. But, if still the overcoming stress and fungal infection do not prevent hair loss, visit dermatologist or surgeon as a number of medical treatment option and hair transplant procedures are there for the hair loss and baldness.
